Strider Almost finished !

I've been reading "The Return of the King " and I'm nearly finished with it. It's been awesome !!
The last time I read it was when I was in my teens. I had forgotten just how good it was.
I'm having a blast !!!

Well, hullo everyone. As you can see, I don't hang out here muchly anymore. There's a good reason for this. Y'see, I've been hanging out at a different chatboard called Cardboardia. So far, I've been havin' a blast. Not that I don't love the TLA, but the magic of Entmoot is lost on me. So, as soon as TLA ends, so will my existance here, probably.

Who knows though? I might stay. Highly unlikely however. This is a good bye in advance, then. Unless you want to join me and my group of friends at Cardboardia.

Cheers!

Congrats Becka!

Now that you're done. Don't you feel a void of sorts? You're lucky you have kids who're reading them right now. You can concentrate on being the "Expert" or FAQ person in the family. Heheh

I like being the "expert" in the family, even though i am only 14! My dad has read it a couple of times but he asks ME if he doesn't understand something, which is cool. Strange though, he has had all those years to get well up of the subject and i have only had 2!

Glad you enjoyed it again, Becka. Each time I read it I discover new things about it, it's so amazing.

When I read it for the first time, I'd finished TTT when someone *kindly* told me what happened at the end of RotK! Grrrr! I thought it would spoil it for me but surprisingly it didn't, I still enjoyed reading RotK and experienced all the pain of Frodo and Sam's every step in Mordor.

Sadly no-one else in my family seems to share my appreciation of Tolkien. They don't know what they're missing!

Your parents aren't the only ones! My 11-year-old daughter is my best fan fiction critic!! She also gives me ideas for questions on the forums.

Becka, now you have the enviable task of turning right around and reading it all again!! I find it gets better every time.

I don't know why you say "I have no one to talk to about it". There's probably message boards on the Internet that are dedicated to Tolkien's works, with members who have read LotR.

I can recommend a few, if you're interested.

*shudders* "Aragorn iz cool"?
What will become of the Entmoot?
Woe, woe unto Radagast, powerless to stop the wave of abbreviations and bad spelling...

I am about to finish Lord of the Rings for the third time: I still cry every time. I enjoyed it by far the most this time, it gets better as you go on. Perhaps it is because you notice so many more thing you never really noticed before.

I agree with myself

I finished LOTR in the second time a week ago. And then I remembered why I like this book...

One of my friends just finished LotR and that is all we talk about. It's really neat having a friend who likes them as much as I do! unfortunately a lot of other people think we're nuts. They don't know what they're missing! I guess that Tolkien just isn't appealing to the average teen-ager.
