Superman Returns

anybody heard of this yet? Brian Singer the guy who did the X-Men movie quit X-Men 3 to make this instead. it comes out next year on June 6.the cast is Brandon Routh(an unknown actor)as Superman/Clark Kent Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. i cant remember the other actors but i am really excited i hope it is as good as Batman Begins was.it takes place after the first two Superman movies but it will ignore Superman 3 and 4.

Yes. It should be good. I doubt it will be as good as Batman Begins though. Brian Singer is no Christopher Nolan, in my oppinion. Oh, and I see they've gone for a regular build actor to play Superman again Superman is a really big guy in the comics...

Nooooooooooo!! Jude Law IS NOT SUPERMAN!!! The casting agents must have been on drugs to even consider Jude Law as Superman. He's a sweet guy, kinda cute, kinda vacuous, but - Superman?!?

I was watching season 4 of 24 tonight and it struck me how perfect Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep from The Mummy) would be as Lex Luthor. He looks just like him. Kevin Spacey is a decent actor I suppose but I can't see him playing a convincing Lex Luthor. Lex is supposed to exude power, and I'm not sure power can be faked.

I absolutely agree...Spacey is too "goody" looking. That was the problem with Gene Hackman too...besides his terrible acting. They need someone not just tall, but with a 'tall but powerful' look.

Thought it was way too heavy on the whole romance aspect between Superman and Louis. Made Superman seem almost stalkerish checking out Louis with his exray vision through the walls of her house and all. And the rest of the story was pushed aside to the point of feeling almost incidental.

Sorry had St. Louis on my mind there...

I liked Kevin Spacey's Lex Luther although I found him much more disturbing then Gene Hackman who had much more of a clown presence to the role then Spacey does. His is more cold psychotic.

I agree, Spacey's Luthor was very good. He's one of the actors who ranks high on my list.

So far I just don't like Spacey. I still haven't seen the film, but from the movies I've watched, except for maybe The Usual Suspects, he just didn't surprise me.

Gene Hackman...sheesh. We're entering into the realm of overrated actors there.

SR was a good movie, production wise, directing wise, effects wise and acting wise even, but it has got to be the absolute worst story ever I mean he's basically invincible except ohh yeah *yawn* that kryptonite thing and then that one chick with the newspaper and *yawwwn*.

And why does'nt anyone recognize him? I got glasses two years ago and no one didn't recognize me (did y'all catch that double negative?) I don't know. I just wish that Ratner and Singer had switched movies, that way X3 would have been worth seeing and SR could have been happily ignored. but other than that a great movie.

Hmmmm....I see some of your points, though I do so without having seen the film.

You're a bit unfair to Ratner though, IMO. His X-Men vision wasn't really that different, it was a tad more "character this, character that, plot this plot that, action this action that" while Singer's was a little more organized...

You think he's overrated? Have you seen The French Connection? A Bridge Too Far? Mississippi Burning? Hoosiers? Unforgiven? The man has TWO acadamy awards and many nominations last time I checked.
