Mine has to be lorien(sp?) because its the elf wood, and a place of magic

oh really?

Doriath.

because -

Fangorn is a little "alien" - Tolkien gives it that feelign on purpose, not just with the "don't go into Fangorn" warnings that the Company recieves, but with the atmosphere of it - Fangorn reminds me a LOT of Bombadil's forest (which is something else i think Tolkien intentionally did) & makes it a place that CAN be welcoming but is more often unnerving.

Lorien, by the time we see it, is beautiful; but it's almost a relic. the Elves are quickly fading, & most of them are not long to remain in ME. that feeling just permeates Lorien, & makes it a very sad place underneath the Elven wonders that live there.

Doriath is THE enchanted Elven-wood.

(oh god, more voting for third parties...)

Re: oh really?

I like Fangorn and Lorien equally well; aren't they always warning travelers not to risk getting entangled in each other? Well, they each have their good points, and they're both very insular (what's with forests being insular?). I like the Old Forest too, because it has Bombadil in it. And didn't I say my favorite place in middle earth was inside the Old Willow? That willow is my friend.
