Where do Elves of Lorien Live?

I know that many elves live in Lorien. But where do they sleep/live? I mean, do they build houses for these elves, or do they sleep on flets, or what?

I think they live in treehouse type things.

At least Celeborn and Galadriel lived in a house high up in a great tree. There's a description of the house in LotR.

I know that there where many flets (whihc I thijnk are the tree house things Gimli and Gamigar where refering to) in the trees in Lorien, but I wondered if the elves lived in them? I mean, because the fellowship just camped in random flets (I think anyway), did elves have there OWN specific flets in which they lived, or did they have houses or something?

I don't know, I was just wondering......

I've never really thought about that before. I always just assumed they lived in flets, because FoTR never really mentioned houses or anything.

I never thought about that either. I remember, they don't need any sleep, just some time to close their eyelids, which they can do on their flets. As to the other question-- did they have their own personal homes-- I think they probably did in theory, but it seems likely to me that they would pretty much stay wherever they pleased.

I guess they must have had some personal space although it would probably suite them just fine to roam around a lot.

PS - They slept in the trees for protection.

Elves sleep with their eyes wide open...

interesting side note: the term 'flet' is the Westron name for the platforms in the trees. The Elvish (Sindarin) name is 'talan' (sg.) or 'telain' (plural).

Some of the platforms were lookout posts for the border guards, though in the city houses were built on them. However, I would imagine the Elves would not always sleep 'indoors'.
