My prediction? The republicans are going to lose beyond the pale...the dems seem to have got the hang of saying "moral" things, also.

Virginia Senatorial race?

Florida congressman? The convenience also of ABC's releasing this evidence? Tope Reps keeping quiet about it for five years? The leading on of the "page"?

Maybe not. We're talking 30 yrs ago. People change and societal norms do also. He's not done anything bad and is very good on a number of issues.

Did you hear about Andrew Young saying those things about Muslims, Jews, and Koreans, when he was interviewed about his support for Wal Mart? Now he didn't get lambasted for that much at all...

I agree...I like the guy, but choosing him would be lousy.

Condi would win, Powell would win...Giuliani would win, but for other reasons.

If she runs our side will look "regular" if we choose someone like Frist...

I think Tancredo could run and win, though....

And I refer to the Miers thing because even Dems would vote Giuliani, as easily as the Dem congressmen would vote for Miers...remember that there was little cry from the Dems, but plenty of complaining from Bush's own supporters...

Besides, Oprah Winfrey is definitely not stupid. Recommending "A Million Little Peices" in the Book Club was, but Oprah is a very intelligent woman.

Oprah has, as far as I know, not responded in any way to Moore's request. I suspect she will ignore it and hope people stop asking, or decline.

President Moore...

I think I would prefer him to Bush, though there would still be an alarmist president who can't do math.

It was stupid, IMO, because the book was published as an autobiography. To qualify for this non-fiction label, the events have to actually be true, and have to have actually happened to you.

The book was really a fiction novel based on the author's life - definitely not an autobiography.

Oprah, and the publisher, were duped into thinking this was a legitimate autobiography, even though they should have known better IMO. (Especially the publisher.)

The other reason recommending the book was stupid, again, IMO, is because it's an absolutely awful book. I've read excerpts. The prose is hideous and the grammar is non-existant. It's not exactly book club quality.

Aaaaanyways. Presidential candidates. Yeah.

I hope the Democrats field someone competant this time.
