The world's number one cartoon cat

Who likes Fat Freddy's Cat?

I got my new avatar in his honour, for no readily apparent reason other than I've got a deadline and it seemed preferable to fiddle about with Fireworks than do any work.

What??? A cat I've never heard of??? Me??? The pundit of all things feline??? (If my friends knew this, I'd never live it down!)

Please, Gaffer! Enlighten me. Tell me more about this, your Avatar!

Seriously...I live in the US and I've not heard of Fat Freddy or his cat. Although my housemate has a cat named Freddie and she (the cat) is quite fat.

I must know more! Thank you!

Lady, you have not lived. FFC is simply the best ever cartoon cat.

Witness: some dude's web site with loads of FFC cartoons, all of them great.

Thanks, Gaffer! I checked it out. He's a real cat's cat!

I was around at that time, in college, even. Alas, I was a nerdy good girl who hung around with other nerdy good kids, except for one guy who would have understood (and partaken) this lifestyle very well. He and I drove over to Canada once in his brother's car. It took us an hour to get through customs. They pulled the car apart, and a female customs officer was coming to "inspect" me when we finally got the OK to proceed. Some day at the beach!

I love 'em (and printed out a few to show my friends -- still nerdy good girls!)

And if I may toot my own whistle, if you are remotely a cat fan, I posted a story in the writer's forum (not fanfic -- original) that you might enjoy.

Thanks again, Gaff!

Yep Garfield. I've loved him and Felix from a very early age and I will always love them.
Garfield rules!

Very early Garfield (late '70's when Jim Davis first started) was funny, edgy and hilarious. As the franchise grew, it started to grow more mass-media bland, in my opinion.

As far as cartoon cats go, anybody remember Freida's cat in "Peanuts?" I believe his name was Ferron... All he did was hang from Freida's arms, prompting Snoopy's comment: "They've done it! They finally created a boneless cat!"

Yep, Garfield's the best. There's a Garfield movie coming out soon. I saw the trailer and it looks funny.
I used to love the cartoon shows.

Though, I love Puss n Boots too!

No no no no, Garfield is great, but the prize goes to Tom, the grey cat from the Tom & Jerry show. As most of us know, the cat and mouse have alot of fun chasing eachother on rooftops, ruining eachothers stardom (for instance, Tom is a famous Tenor, and one night he happens to be singing on a stage above Jerry's house (why Jerry conveniently has a house there, I dont know, but that just adds on to the humour!), and Jerry ruins the night for Tom by distracting him ...

I love Fat Freddy's Cat! Only those in the know will say Fat Freddy's Cat is the best cartoon cat!

Of course the freak brothers are cool heads too!

They were still releasing the occasional Freaks' adventure throughout the 80s and 90s. I checked out the Rip Off Press site and they seem to have reissued some "lost" strips from the late 60s too.
