Anthony Trollope

Until I came across one of his books I never even heard of him, and I remember I was really shocked at how good he turned out to be... it was like a treat carefully hidden away from me! So, anyways, are there any other Trollope fans like me out there?

Yes, I really like Trollope. He's not very fashionable, so people don't talk about him much, but he's a lot of fun! I've read Barchester Towers, The Warden, Framley Parsonage and Can You Forgive Her?. I especially like how he brings characters from one novel into another, so that he creates his own world, a whole parallel Victorian society...

Finally! and there was I thinking I was the only one who liked him...

I have read around a dozen of his books, and I loved too the way he re-introduces characters... and how the same charcter is perceived differently in each novel, because they're all from different points of views.

I adore Trollope. Read Barchester Chronicles and a few others I can't recall. Favorite would have to be The Way We Live Now. Absolutely brilliant book.

I read it quite a while ago, but I remember I liked the Palliser novels more. Also Mary Thorne. Barchester Towers is a favourite too.

Did he write The Eustace Diamonds? I bought a very old copy in a used bookstore eons ago, lovely little book, beautifully bound and a good novel, too, I seem to recall.

Yes, its one of the Palliser novels, and in my opinion, one of the most fun books he ever wrote.
