Surly David Beckham would make a better Finrod (hes got there hair) and Posh could be Luthien

If that ever happened i think Tolkien would rise from the grave and take vengance

Johnny Depp could be Túrin, or Fëanor.

I really don't want to think about it. I don't want to see that book becoming a movie. It's nearly impossible to find the appropriate actors for the roles of such characters as Fingolfin, Finrod, Glorfindel, etc.

Alright, If I had to choose some:

Hurin: Liam Neeson
Huor: Sean Bean
Morwen: Catherine Zeta-Jones
Finrod: Brad Pitt (He's boyish enough)
Beren: Russel Crowe
Eol: Alan Rickman
Maeglin: Tim Robbins

I can see Morgan Freeman in a good role as well.

i've created a thread for our final cast choices, so we don't have to scroll around. I think we should vote for the ones we like here, and I'll post them there. please indulge my current choices.

I agree; she *could* work, but she's a bit too old. If they ever made - God forbid! - Morgoth's Ring: The Movie, I can see her as a great Andreth. Possibly too young for *that* role, but she has a look of great wisdom to her.

Hehe...I agree. And yes, Tom Cruise can pull off long hair. Go see Interview with a Vampire. Not bad, not bad...

What would be really fun is Mark Hammilton as Fingolfin and James Earl Jones/David Prowse as Morgoth.

"Fingolfin...I am your father!"

That's a whole new subplot for Jackson (assuming he makes the film) to play with!

Pretty, but I think Binoche was better.

I'd like to have Jude Law in, but don't know where to put him.
