EntQuest, the Battle for Hector.

Fredrico Flew faster then ever before. Even though he had no visable ears, even he could hear Hector screaming.

What Sas and Mari didn't know is that Hector was not screaming because of Bunicula, but rather screaming with horror at what he had just found half-buried in the ground in front of him. " A Barbra Streisand Christmas LP?!" "Blech!"

Bunicula sighted a lone horseman, watching from a hilltop. Hector looked up at the hill, shading his eyes with his eyes from the setting sun.

Just then Fredrico and Sas landed next to Hector, "There you are! We have been looking all over for you! Where have you been?!"

[Mari]

"Okay Aeran, you've got the trail now? It's going the other way?! Then why did we go this way!?" *sigh* "Let's go find Bunicula then." With that they turned around now heading in the same direction as Sas went earlier.

[Nautipus]

Nautipus plodded along, well behind the larger group, his ears alert for signs of others coming up the trail from the Teacup. He thought he heard a distant sound from the woods, and reigned up, but waved it off. Only an idiot would go traipsing through the woods by themselves, and he didnt apply that term to any in their group. He spured his mount on.

"Hey Sas," Hector motioned for Sasquatch to duck down. "There's a horseman on that hilltop. Get behind a rock!"

"O.k!" said Sas as he dove behind a rock. Fredrico was confused. "Fredrico! Get down!" Fredrico hit the dirt at hearing his masters command. Sas weary of if this was freind or foe readied his crossbow

[Mari]

Mari crossed the path she had left earlier that day when she went to look for Bunicula. To her right she saw a person on a horse, who could have been Nautipus, but he was fairly far away. We'll catch up later. They'll have to make camp anyway.
And she went on with Aeran in search of Bunicula.

Back at what was apparently camp, Sis began stringing up hammocks and built a fire-ring. If everyone was found before nightfall, they could just move on, but if they were still straggling in, at least they'd have supper. Probably, that (and a perimeter survey) was what the Merry Banditos were up to. At least we know they're being useful, somewhere.

We could tie hector to a horse... unconsious, by preference.

"I notice no one has answered my question" she muttered.

"Hector who is that?" Sas said as he stared at the horseman, crossbow ready if something went wrong.

Hector, Sas, Frederico, and inimitable Bunicula were all crouched behind two large boulders, peering to see what the horseman on the hilltop was doing.

The horseman turned his horse directly towards the boulders, and kicked his horse into a trot.

Hector turned to Sas. "We've got to create a distraction."

"You got it!" said Sas as he aimed his crossbow at a large rotting tree and fierd. The tree didn't buge. He fired again, only this time the arrow was bright blue and he hit the tree, and it fell with a loud THUNK!!

As Sas heroically shot down a tree, to distract the horseman, Bunicula of his own free will, ran up towards the horseman, circled him(her) once, leapt up on the horse, and promptly bit deept into the horseman's butt.

Hector and Sas heard a piercing cry, reminiscent of a Black Rider.

[Mari]

"BUNICULA!" Aeran and Mari came storming from the woods. "Bunicula! What are you doing! Your food is here, so let go of that person this instant!" Aeran noticed there was more going on then Bunicula having a relapse and tried to get Mari to come to a halt, while she only had eyes for what she thought was Bunicula's latest outburst.

"What- Mari? Waht are you doing here?!" hissed Sas, Fredrico made a small down gesture and softly grunted.

[Grey_Wolf]

"Well now that we have found Hector perhaps we can get going on the real quest!" Sir Greye Wolfe said to the main group as he helped out with the making of the camp..

"Hector, who is that?!" said Sas looking horrified at the carnage, "I doubt he's anyone freindly or Buniclua would not be acting this way! Should we attack? Should we help? What should we do?"

[Mari]

"Bunicula! Get here this instant! And I do mean... NOW!" At hearing the voice of Mari which had lost all patience and warmth, Bunicula finally released the person on the horse and came back to Mari who started lecturing him. Aeran was keeping an eye out for them, but they still were in plain view. If the horseman were to attack it might be a problem...

"Mari! Get down!" Sas hissed again, "It'll probably do no good now but...." Sas's voice trailed off as he put down his crossbow and readied his war-hammer, "I don't like the looks of this!" he said as the horseman realized his newfound freedom.

Acally heard what sounded like a Black Rider.
"What the hell was that?" She had gone out to scout around the campsite. But whatever this thing that had made that scream was, she had a feeling it wasn't friendly. Acally crept toward where she had heard the scream. She drew her bow and a few arrows. On the edge of the woods, she saw several crouching figures and a rider. She had a bad feeling about this rider. Acally decided to take the chance and be the distraction since the blue flamed tree and Bunicula didn't work.
"Hold it right there!" she said, breaking cover and drawing the bow as taunt as it would go. "Who are you and what do you want?"
