Re: It´s here!!!
I am very frustrated. I have downloaded quicktime, but I cannot install it because of the odd nature of the Install program--it has to connect to the "Apple Public HTTP Site", and for some reason can't, even when my browser can go to the Apple site just fine. I guess nobody here would be likely to know how to fix this, but it's so frustrating! And so far no one has found a way to convert the trailer from QuickTime to another, more versatile, format. What's with Apple that they're so proprietary?? (sorry anduin) This makes me mad.

Re: 6 days till the preview!
I saw it. Very good
Unfortunately my area STILL does not offer cable modems, so I had to wait like 2 hours for it to load. And then when it was done, an AD popped up and the video stopped! Luckily we were able to resume it, but I was scared for a second |

Re: 6 days till the preview!
I finally got it! I had to hunt through obscure support pages on the apple site until I found a download that would let me install it all at once. whew! And the movie's going to be great!

Re: ...
I went back and rewatched it, and those are not green rolling fields.....looks like the earth is totally devoid of any vegetation as far as the eye could see.

Re: ...
Ok, i've been trying to get it for days, but I've been getting hangups, illegal errors, the whole kit and kaboodle. Anduin, can you tell me how to get it so I can save it. I think that might help me
Update: Well, my computer hates me, hopefully on sunday I'll go over to the house of someone who has a cable modem and see it. I did see the screen shots at torn (icky torn ) and they were awesome! |

Re: ...
I was able to save it to my hard drive from two different sites. One was the one listed above...I'll have to check on the other. Try using your right mouse-button to click the link for the movie, and choose "save link as". I'm not sure it'll work, but try it anyway.

Re: ...
Here is another site you can try:
<a href=http://a1216.g.akamai.net/5/1216/51/37dddc1897e748/1a1a1aaa2198c627970773d80669d84574a8d80d3cb12453c0 2589f25382f668c9329e0375e81785ea61cd36a40938a41385 e948b71d7cf058bd1c8ef765cc3f/lotr_480l.mov>http://a1216.g.akamai.net/5/1216/51/.../lotr_480l.mov</a> If you want another size, change the 480 to something else. (at least that's what someone else told me to do) And after you have the screen on your browser, then select "Save as" on the file menu, and save the link to your hard drive. |

Re: ...
The medium trailer seems ok for me.
The big one doesn't play as well on my pc (300Mhz, 64M ram, ide drive). Anyone has good results with the big one. (I'll try to configure quicktime better to see) |

Re: ...
I downloaded the "large" one (not the XL one...that is only for DSL/cable modems etc.). It took forever, but it was worth it.
Yesterday, I had access to a T1 line and downloaded the XL one, but the sound never matched the images. Honestly, it looked no better than the one I already have at home. |

Re: Downloadable trailers ...
I have heard privately that New Line started cracking down on people who were making the trailer available in savable format. I don't know if they got all the sites or not.
