The Great Game

I saw the great game.

It was better in my opinion than the Blind Banker.

Interesting way to get people/hostages pass messages to Sherlock.

The sniper dots, while visually nice, was not realistic. The visible dots have no benefit for the sniper. A dot in the sights would be good.

I did not care for was the shooting of the wall. It did not seem to be in Holmes' character.

I liked how the show indicated what was in the cell phone.

The name of the hit man made me think of another gollum. Interesting that they had similar methods of dealing with people.

I am assuming that the ending was a type of cliff hanger.

Aw, hellz, yeah.

And, Lot, series 2 has not yet aired in the US of A. It will air in May; the UK release of the DVD was last week, but it probably won't be released in the States till it airs.

Actually that was both canonical and in keeping with his self-diagnosis (in Sherlock) as a 'high-functioning sociopath'.

In the original books he actually spelled out 'VR' in bullet holes in the wall at Baker Street!

It certainly reinforces that he does not really understand (or care for) normal conventions regarding appropriate behaviour.

I saw the most recent episode (Great Game) and, although I don't like Sherlock, the other characters were interesting and I really enjoyed the plotline.

Side note, I hate what the guy was doing for Moriarty's voice. What was with all of the falsetto? It made him sound stupid, not like a crazy, ruthless genius... but maybe that's just me.

It makes a bit more sense if you saw the finale of the first season. Unpredictability, instability, random shifts, and all that is his particular kind of crazy.

Also, if you don't like Sherlock, we can no longer be friends.

I never read His Last Bow.

I agree that Holmes goes to the beat of a different drummer. He is an independent thinker with his own sense of morality and honor.

Tessar: FYI about Moriarty, I found this comment on the interweb:

"I'm one of those people eating crow right now. I HATED the show's version of Moriarty when we first met him in season one. I put some of that down to being programmed by years and years of just one interpretation of that character.... However, this episode turned everything around for me. Scott was absolutely great, managing to nail both the threat and the humour of this version's Moriarty...."

Not too sure what crows have to do with it, an American expression I assume? Anyway, general opinion is that Scott's interpretation pays off HUGELY in Series Two.
