Don't feel bad; I had to miss the first half of it myself. I had to rush out & do some stuff for my boyfriend, so I missed a bit. I'm looking right now for a complete list of winners in all categories; will post it when I get it. George Clooney won an oscar, but I'm not sure in what category - Shah, do you know? Was it best supporting actor?

I know, I remember what I said yesterday, but STILL, it's so encouraging to see a hip-hop group win an Oscar from the stodgy Academy; really this was a big deal tonight. Very cool!

I had a feeling Narnia would win for Best Makeup - did I mention that yesterday? It just made sense that they would - either Narnia, or Memoirs of a Geisha but was Geisha up for an award in Best Makeup category?

Did you guys catch that funny bit with Jon Stewart joking about Itzhak Perlman & Three 6 Mafia doing a music battle? That one cracked me up. Itzhak Perlman was amazing, BTW. When he was playing onstage, that's the point I was able to start watching the Oscars. What a brilliant musician HE is.

Sadly, like I said, I missed the whole thing and did not get a chance to post my other picks. I would have picked Narnia for the make-up and Kong for visuals though. Also March of the Penguins for documentery. The Hoffman one does surprise me though. Poor, poor Jaquin.

I know; Joaquin looked very disappointed, but he was gracious-looking, not bitter. But you could really see how bummed he was. I think I even saw his eyes kind of teary, but he smiled anyway. If you watch the five faces of the nominees as they read the winner from the envelope, you can really see all kinds of emotion happening. Terrence Howard, for instance, he was really hoping, too; he twirled a ring on his finger for good luck and you could really see him thinking in his mind "Pick me! Pick me!"

All in all, it was a nice, elegant, well-done Academy Awards show this year. The dresses were all very beautiful, nothing outlandish or scary or ugly - well, I didn't really like Jennifer Lopez's dress tonight but it wasn't TOO bad. There were so many dresses that I liked, I could go on and on, and usually I hardly like ANY of the dresses in shows like this.

The variety of winners was great; it was nicely balanced, with no one film sweeping it up. So, great show! Every year I watch the Academy Awards, and wish that I were one of the people there attending, or up for an Oscar myself. Seriously! For the longest time I wanted to be a movie star, and now I want to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It can happen! Dream big, right? Now all I gotta do is actually write a screenplay.

Is there any other way to dream? . When you do write an awesome screenplay make sure you get Joaquin to star in it so he can win the Oscar huh . The tough part is getting the motivation and finding the time to do it.

Oh, trust me, I have the time - it's the inspiration, or motivation, that I need to get going in myself. Actually, motivation, more than anything. I just can't keep procrastinating on following through on my dream. This year will be the year I finish my first screenplay; I already have that on my list of resolutions. Alas, I need to get my ass in gear because here it is already March and I still haven't started formatting my screenplay idea yet. But I will, you'll see!

Everyone was! That's why it was so fantastic how the awards were actually spread out, where all the nominees got a prize here and there. Hector, you DO know that the Oscars already tooj place, right? Brokeback actually did NOT win huge; they got three categories.

She didn't go to the Oscars this year. I can't remember what reason she gave for not going; surely she had an invite?

I like that skin-coloured dress she's wearing there, though. Is that a Gaultier? Champagne, skin-colour, soft brown, earthy wine-colour, cream, white - so many of the dresses this year at the Oscars were beautiful, elegant neutral colours and soft earthy colours. I hated Jennifer Lopez-s dress, maybe because it was on HER - can't stand that woman. Reese Witherspoon wore a gorgeous vintage Dior, circa 1951 - beaded silver & cream gown. I loved Rachel Weisz's elegant black maternity gown, too. As they were all saying, she made pregnancy seem so easy. Such a lady!

My favourite was Keira Knightley's dress, and second favourite Uma Thurman's. Uma showed up in a gorgeous dusky lavender Versace dress - I think it was Versace. Looked like it. Either that or Ungaro.

It was a good show this year. Did anyone crack up while Lily Tomlin and Meryl Streep were on stage? Their bantering back and forth was great.

It started to get on my nerves the way so many of the dresses were either that dull black color or off white. It looked like a funeral in some parts and a wedding in others. Which isn't to say that the dresses were gorgeous, it's just there were too many in certain colors. There were a couple dresses in a really lovely blue though. I liked those.
