One could argue that if you alter material too far from its original state, it becomes unnatural. But that would be a smidge off topic.

WRT gender issues, there isn't anything human that isn't natural.

Really? I dunno.... earth's a pretty closed system. Don't see that altering to any degree could be considered 'unnatural'.

Hey, guys and gals, here's a new definition that you might want to consider:

http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/o...nless_the.html

Harridan?

Harpy?

You decide.

Since I'm a gynecologist, I have a definition of feminism that is different...but what would you expect from a patriarchal old fool?

There's worse, if you have the stomach for it, but I haven't seen this sort of raving in quite some time and never in this serious sort of vein:
http://jammiewearingfool.blogspot.co...d-wife-in.html

And you thought the Euros had the politically correct thingy all to themselves!

Well, since you're a gynecologist, wouldn't it be fair to say you're more interested in people's secondary sexual characteristics than in their gender? I mean, what does their gender have to do with their reproductive health?

Anyway, about the Newsweek article you linked:

I wouldn't use slightly sexist terms such as harpy or harridan (sexist in the sense that they're negative and only directed at women) to describe this person's fairly extreme views.

I had to laugh at this part though (bolding mine):

Quote:
Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman. The Republican party's cynical calculation that because she has a womb and makes lots and lots of babies (and drives them to school! wow!) she speaks for the women of America, and will capture their hearts and their votes, has driven thousands of real women to take to their computers in outrage. She does not speak for women; she has no sympathy for the problems of other women, particularly working class women.
Palin's greatest hypocrisy? How about this for hypocritical: no one should force their beliefs on others, except for me, who has every right to tell Sarah Palin what gender she is.

Palin describes herself as a woman. It seems to me that the gender she identifies best with is being a woman. Therefore, she's a woman. The only person who has any right to say anything about this is Palin herself.

I agree that Palin doesn't speak for every American woman, but that doesn't mean Palin is actually not a woman.

I wonder if that was a typo or something.

As for the totally frothing other article... my brain cannot un-read these things you know. *sigh*
