I know this is a strange answer but consider the racist "one drop rule" employed in the past by many U.S. jurisdictions to deem anyone with even one drop of African American ancestry "Negro" even if, racially, a person was primarily Causcasian. Because of the treatment, while some very light skinned such folks elected to represent themselves as (and pass) as white, most lived culturally as black because - here's the key - the broader society and themselves considered themselves black.

I think it may be the same with Shannara blood. Even if eventually the scions of Shannara find themselves with just drops of Elven blood remaining, as long as their culture and themselves believe in and embrace their Shannara heritage, the magic will live.
