Anyone going to see the Houston opening?

I regret I haven't been able to spend the time here I used to. Heck, even my own forums don't see much of me lately.

Anyway, I've joined the Houston Line Party which Thenamir registered at TheOneRing.Net. I'm helping to announce the event to people in various communities where I've participated through the years.

We'll all be meeting at the Gulf Point 30 theater, which is near the southEAST intersection of Beltway 8 and I-45. Although that's a bit of a drive from/to where I live, it's actually pretty close to where I work. And since the Line Party is for the first show at midnight (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning), I'll just drive down there after work.

There will be door prizes from Weta/Sideshow, AMC theater, and the author of Visualizing Middle-earth (okay, don't everyone get too excited).

Can't think of anything else to say. Thenamir has posted details on the Line Party page.

Hope to see lots of folks there!

Well, MM, that is a bit of a drive from the NW part of town, but I'm considering it.

You and I must live pretty close to each other. I have sent you my telephone number by email. Please let me know if you received it! After my gaffe with the last email I sent you, I'm not sure you're receiving stuff from me these days.

I'm not currently at home, but rather at the office. I'll PM you with my work e-mail. I just signed up for the line party.

What do you mean don't get too excited?! It's the AMC theatre!

I meant, don't get too excited about the chance of winning an autographed copy of Visualizing Middle-earth (trying to be humble, here -- it's not easy for some of us, you know!).

Yes. The rain, the mosquitos, the long hours in traffic -- it's a place worth living in.

Seriously, after Albuquerque, which sits in a desert, Houston has been a very pleasant experience. There are people who like rocks, dust, and sandstorms, but I'm not one of them.
