I'm glad you are interested in discussing LotR with us. However, please do use the search feature (in the upper right corner of the screen) before starting a new thread.

We have a few recent threads discussing the movie in terms of what should have been in, etc. The ones on the first page you could use are "Mooters' RotK reviews," "Reasons for movies to be different," and "RotK: a successful adaptation?" There are a couple that deal specifically with the Scouring of the Shire and its absence from the film, just do a search for it. I'll have to close this one now.
