Faramir not only wasn't enough in ROTK but I have the impression that he was persented weaker than he really is. I mean, he doesn't seem to do much. IMO PJ should spend more time in showing how Faramir and his men resisted the forces of Mordor.

And more importantly, that Faramir said he could take the Ring, but said immediately after that he wouldn't. He didn't take Frodo on Sam on a ridiculous, time-wasting trip to Ithilien.

That is something that bothered me too. They didn't make Faramir "noble" enough in my opinion. Faramir was more like a neutral character, plus I think the portrayal of Denethor as some crazy guy and the lust of Boromir for the ring further weakens Faramir's character to the movie audience. If Faramir's character doesn't leave an outstanding impression by itself, they those things will surely give the viewer the opinion that the whole house of the Stewards was a bunch of paranoid maniacs.

Faramir and his soldiers going back to osgiliath was a perfect scene, flawless... i dont care if Faramir is a more important character to the story, in the movies Eomer is better

I don't know if I'd say they made Faramir appear weak, but they definitely didn't show enough of his efforts to stem the tide. I do think his nobility was evident (especially in TTT: EE and ROTK).

Faramir did not get the screen time he deserved, and did not come off as noble as he did in the books.

And Faramir's preference in Gandalf, I believe, wasn't obvious
