Was Lucas High?

Don't get me wrong, the original Star Wars movies were great; but then again, so was Alice in Wonderland. Some of the Star Wars aliens seem like one couldn't just up with them from the human mind almost; does anyone know if he used any mind-altering drugs or anything like that?

Um, George Lucas had a little thing called an Art Department that did most/all of the funky creature design work...

<Yoda

I don't think he was high at the time. He just has a brilliant mind that far exceeds the understanding, creativity, and forsight of most mortals. Tolkien too.

*ahem*

Has anyone here ever delved into the fields of Xeno/exobiology? There are some pretty interesting theoretical games that can be played with non-humanoid extra-terrestrial creatures. You'd be amazed by what people have come up with- some of it makes george lucas's aliens look pathetic.

Well, nobody has a strict definition of what a living being capable of sentience is. So all's fair.

What kind of things are you talking about? Outside of Lucas, all I know is pretty much the Star Trek aliens (so inventive and unqiue!) and the Alien and Predator.

Aliens in many SF books are amazing. Have you read Orson Scott Card? Really great...
