Yet another post in EU's stupid questions category

Did you get 2000, and now, when you try to register, it just sits there, freezes up and does nothing? That is what mine did every time, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled 2000. I could never get beyond initial registration with it and I eventually uninstalled it and looked around online for someone who still had 99b available. Now 99b never gave me a moment's trouble.

I will have to look for it, but I can get you the link to the site that had 99b if you need it. I found a note on ICQ's website to the effect that you could use an older version if the new one just would not work for you, but they did not advise it. If you do, run a virus scan on it before you use it, just to be safe. My copy was clean, but you never know

I dowloded ICQ 2000, had some problems in the begining, but after a while I sorted them out.

I am impressed, then. I never got past the sorting out stage
