For me it smacked of the cheesey Star Wars line, "Use the Force, Luke." But IP, you're on the mark about it working as a turning point.

I must agree. I've seen the movie more times than I care to admit and everytime I see that scene I end up in tears (and usually getting laughed at) It's the one scene I'd love to walk out of the theatre for so I don't cry but couldn't stand to miss because it is the most (In my opinion) emotionaly moving scene in the entire movie...*Sniffles* just thinking about it makes me sad...
