Spellchecker needed here!
I have seen forums using this same format with this option...can it be done, or is it too cost prohibitive?

Hmm.... I don't see the need. Besides, half the words we use here (Gandalf, Thuringwethil, Boromir, etc... ) aren't going to be found in a dictionary, and a spell checker will try to change them into something. (You can't have meant "Baggins," we have replaced it with "Bargains" )
Just proof-read your posts. And if necessary, type them up in Word first and do a spell-check there.

I really, really, really dislike spell checkers. This might be a hint that I can spell without one, but still... I can't stand the way it mutates all the names I put in!
That was a senseless post, I know.... But I'm really tired right now....

If you can spell Withywindle or Thuringwethil you don't need a spell checker!!

yeh, a spel checr mite bee nise. but it wood indied mes up da namez . . . .
Translation for the above gobbledegook: Yeah, a spell checker might be nice, but it would indeed mess up all the names. And think of what it would do to Quenya . . .

on my hotmail spell checker, and others, you can add words so everytime you type something it will pick it up only once, so you could add gandalf and stuff and it would be like a lotr spell check.

Couldn't you get one that you select spell check and it tells you what it doesn't like, but doesn't change anything unless you say to? On the really old version of Word that we had it was like that. You could also add words to the Dictionary, like Sakata's.

You can proofread your posts "manually," and use a dictionary if unsure as to proper spellings.
If you're too lazy to do any of this, then you deserve to look ignorant with incorrect spelling .
