Carter Beats the Devil - Glen David Gold

I read this over Christmas and enjoyed it thoroughly. If you're into stories about vaudeville magic shows, presidential assassinations, Secret Service conspiracies, lion taming and pretty much the whole gamut of Depression-era America, this is the book for you.

Has anyone else read it? I was particularly impressed by the third act of the novel, which held my attention and ran with it for a hundred and fifty pages.
