On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the United States of America.

We haven't been getting along very well recently and for that, I am truly sorry.
I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all it's not like you actually elected him.

I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and better than your own.

I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours.

I'm sorry we burnt down your white house during the war of 1812. I notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice.

I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer but, we Feel your Pain.

I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up against a crazed dictator, you wanna have your friends by your side. I realize it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler, but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons.

And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over this.

We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with.

Canada seems like a very cold place to live... it also seems like a boring nation to belong to :P always being ignored, always neutral, almost never getting into anything.

also must suck to have french speaking weirdos in your nation! :P (dont like the french at the moment...) Don't know about the rest of Canada, but in Montreal everyone smokes.

Just doesn't seem like my kind of place to live.

GW - I must assume you mean me.

It just shows the moronic nature of the Canadians to say that George Bush wasn't elected. He was elected according to OUR Constitution. Canada, as well as many Americans and others around the world - don't seem to have a grasp or understanding of our Constitution though. Get over it. Canada might want to remember - THEY didn't elect him at all - but when Canada IS the 51st state - then they can have a role in electing OUR presidents. First they'll have to come out from under the thumb of the British Empire though.

As for Bush being a moron - it's funny how none of the terrible things which the socialist left said would come to pass have. Let's see - if we went after Iraq - the Middle East was supposed to go into complete chaos with terrorist attacks throughout the west. People said Bush would never get the Road Map for the Palestinian State accepted by Israel (now they're just hoping it'll fail so they aren't proved wrong again), we were going to be bogged down in Afganistan and be another Vietnam. I'd also like to point out that one of the reasons for going into Iraq was to have a domino effect on the other Middle East countries. I don't know if you've watched the news lately - but Iran is on the verge of a revolution against the religious clerics, as well as their government, and students are demanding DEMOCRACY.

I'd say based on everything that has occurred since 9/11 - he's handling everything very well and has proved himself not to be a moron. He may not always give the best speeches - but I have noticed his tone changes based on what he is trying to accomplish. Sometimes it's cocky (like toward Europe which needs it) - sometimes it's more professional (like toward Israel and the Palestinians).

Now - the Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien is another story - he's just like Chricac.

Now they ARE TWO morons - and they're both French Okay one is French Canadian so he's only half bad. But you claim America didn't elect Bush - so what is Canada's excuse for ELECTING such a moron? We know France's excuse - they almost elected the psuedo Nazi Le Pen and ended up getting stuck with Chirac (even though everyone wanted him out of office). Sometimes I think Chirac and Chretian are brothers - especially when they open their mouths.

As for the getting involved in World War II - Hitler was doing many many things before England and France decided to do anything about Hitler (other than try to appease him by letting him take over Austria and Czechoslovakia). I wouldn't be too superior about being first in going after Hitler if I were you - millions of people died while Europe watched. Actually if Europe had done what we did with Hussein - the whole World War II mess could have been avoided - along with saving millions and millions of innocent lives. I would also like to ask where was the rest of the world when we were left to finish off Japan? We were fighting on TWO fronts. Europe just worried about Europe.

So Canada burned down the White House - at least Canadians finally admit that they're OWNED by the British - since it was BRITISH troops who attacked Washington and destroyed the White House. Or is it that Canadians just don't know their own history?

As for the hockey game - no one really cares here. We won against the Soviet Union in 1981 which was a much bigger thing because it was the two Super Powers competing. It also doesn't matter much because we win the most medals anyway. Obviously Canada thinks beating us at hockey was a big deal because it was nothing of a country (Canada) beating the World's ONLY Super Power (America). At least Canada has something to be proud of in it's history. I imagine in 100 years from now Canada will still be saying.. "Yeah yeah yeah - well.... We beat you in hockey - so there" You know what is great though - WE, New Jersey- have the STANLEY CUP and Ottawa doesn't. NEW JERSEY DEVILS #1

Also - if we're such a terrible country - then why do 90% of Canadians live within 90 miles of the US border? Oh yeah - I forgot - because the rest of Canada is a snow barren wasteland.

your a dumba$$, not all the people there doenst smaoke. My relatives in Montreal dont smoke, and when i went there in Feb. i dindnt see that many people smoking. Besides, mpeople smoke everywhere in the world so dont make up BS

Don't go around starting flames. "everyone smokes there" was a generalization - and one which is true.

I was there about 2-3 years ago and everyone smoke. As in in about 99% of restaurants, no non-smoking section, or if there was one it was a joke - like a small barrier, smoke still wafting over. A ton of people in every restaurant I went to smoked.

Outsider, inside, everwhere. no where to escape from smoke. Even kids smoked!

I'm not saying that your relatives smoke, but the fact that a lot of people smoke there is true. I don't think that in two years the Canadian government has made great effort to try to stop smoking - like the US has done.

I'd say smoking in Montreal (where i was in canada) was probably similar (i say this because I was not alive then) to smoking here in the US in the 60s and 70s.

It is just part of the culture there - its disgusting. I don't know about the rest of Canada, this was in the french speaking part. Smoking is a BIG part of French culture and the French are not doign anything to stop it.

Everyone there DOES SMOKE. In france and in french speaking parts of canada. I've been to both countries.

If you did not see smokers, good for you , but do NOT CURSE AT ME.

Also, the amusement park, "La Ronde," was a dump when I was there and everyone there smoked as well.

Why imagine that? Of course I knew about the elctorial college. Bush was not elected by the american people - they chose Gore. It WAS a stolen election and very unfair. The Electorial College is outdated now and should be gotten rid of.

I'm not saying that it wasn't legal - just not fair...
