Considering Leaving GM

I am highly considering leaving General Messages. It's just that I spend so much time here now, and I want people to know me for my knowledge of Tolkien, not for my Iraq debating skills or anything else.

Opinions anyone?

Hmm, I have one opinion. I doubt you'll succeed

. No one ever does succeed in that goal, though many have tried.

If you want to expand out to the Tolkien forums though, that's a fine goal though

Elf Girl, I think that most people (if not all) know that you have banks of knowledge about Tolkien, if they ever bothered to take even a tiny peak at the Tolkien forums.

Why the heck would you want to do that? You can be in both areas. I dont understand what the problem is. You give good input here and over there in the Tolkien threads. If you ask me theres no reason at all to limit yourself. I dont get it.

Just pick and choose where (and when) you want to post

do what i do: have to pages going at the same time with one in the GM and the other one Tolkien related, it works . . . sort of anyway

uummmm... well.... I say post in both. Besides its what you think of yourslef that matters, not what others think of you, elfgirl. I know that most people think that I am a silly fangirl. But i know in my heart that I am not. (I really am not- I swear.) Anyways... If it that important to you to be known for your vast knowledge of Tolkien works, the nleave if you want to. But I wouldn't reccomend it. Just post in both.

It's not impossible. I continued to post (and moderate!) on Entmoot for a few months straight, maybe close to a year, without checking General Messages. It's actually a far more enlightening experience to just discuss LOTR, which is what I'm here for, isn't it?

Though I'm back now, so I guess I've just disproved myself.

Control thyself! If posting in GM annoys you, don't do it. Actions speak louder than your words most times!

Entmoot should be a place to enjoy. (IMO)

Actually, it's pretty amazing how many people can separate their GM disagreements from their agreements in other forums. Overall, this is a gerat site for that reason.

Would be fun if you used more of your time on the Tolkien-related foruma, we could need you (especially in the language-threads)!
