Most impressive male character

As the response to the most impressive female character thread is that good, I thougth that a most impressive male character thread wouldn't be bad either. (I'm a little feminist, but hey, that thread is necessary.)

Which man, elf, darf, Vala, Maia or maybe hobbit is the most impressive male character in Arda?

Is it just a handsome guy, or a fighter? Strong or lovely?

It's a hard choice but whom do you admire the most?

Does Iluvatar count as a male character?

Without Eru, I would say that Gandalf, Manwe or Feanor are the most impressive characters.

Glorfindel. Not only did he save the Ringbearer, but he killed a Balrog and was willing to die for it. (And he loves me!)

Strider

I'd say Faramir cause despite his father he turned out pretty good. And I'm biased cause of Eowyn but Next would Be Gandalf

Hehehe.

Well, if not Iluvatar, than I would say:

Frodo: The Ring-bearer, the little person of great strength of will, who bore the Ring from Bag-end to the very Crack of Doom without breaking beneath it's power. Even when there was no hope, even when he was certain he would fail, he pressed on, trying his best to the very end.

Gandalf: The obvious reasons. Wizard, Maia, great motivator, Balrog-slayer, and prime force in the War of the Ring.

Rian, you are a dead duck. What she says is true, but I didn't put Mr. Bloom aka Legolas up there, my brother did it. Anyway, if there were a pic of Finrod, it would be him, but there isn't.

Rian, you have gotten brave lately. Pop your head out so my stick can wack it.

Wow. Gosh... I'm not sure... oh, who could it be... who... so many to choose from... what a really hard decision to make... hmmmmm... ... what a toughie... well, I don't know... I'll just have to go with, maybe ... Finrod sigh *swoons*. (Did you guess already? Oh, shucks, I'm so predictable.)

Oh, btw... I don't have any pics of Legolas, anywhere. *smirks at SGH* Some of us are loyal, some of us are not... not that I would name names or anything. *sends an accusatory look at SGH*

My top 3 picks would be:

1. Beorn

Uh-huh. Suuuure he didn't. I noticed that too...I tried to let her say it was Finrod, but she wouldn't.

Seriously, SGH, I'm sure if you find a picture of Finrod that you like, you can get it to the right size, and use it for your buddy icon.

Unfortunately, there are too many impressive males to choose from. Without Iluvatar, I say Finrod, Beren, Beleg (I know he's not that impressive but he's one of my faves) Frodo, Faramir, Gandalf, Manwe and (I daresay) Feanor. I can't decide which one is the most impressive at this point, but I am leaning towards Gandalf.

Yes, I realise that this is essentially a list of those already mentioned. Oh, I forgot to mention Legolas. That long golden hair, those charming blue (and occasionally, brown) eyes... Does Orlando Bloom count as a Tolkien character?

No, I don't think so.
We had the discussion already in the Female thread and I think that he would win every category. He is God, leave him out.

I guess the choice in the most impressive male character is even more difficult than in the most impressive female character. There are more male characters.
