Stephen King
I have read The Tommyknockers, Insomnia, 'Salems Lot, and the complete and uncut version of The Stand. If you look on page 91 of The Stand, he makes a large reference to LOTR, so I think he is a Tolkienite, 'cus there are other references, too. Talk away, peoples!

I have come across many LotR (and Watership Down) references in King's work.
