Lords of the Noldor
I'm curious. Most Noldorin Lords and Kings seem to be skilled people, especially so for the Feanorians. And skilled workers and artisans rise quickly and hold high positions in Noldorin government, like Maeglin for example. Pretty unusual.
If we used the same criteria for choosing leaders as the Noldor, we'd end up with Senate and Congress packed with engineers, scientists, architects, programmers, hackers, landscape artists, interior decorators,etc... And maybe Bill Gates would be President after a tough electoral fight with Steve Jobs (ugh :P. Maybe it's not such a good idea after all. Bill Gates does behave like a Feanorian at times). Why is it necessary for Noldor leaders to be skilled at something or other? |
