Old Favourites

has anyone, when chucking out old things, ever came across a book which you've had for ages?
like any books you've had since when you were a baby, child, etc.
if you have, post them here!

i found my old 'Spot the Dog' books once!

My relatives came up for Christmas, so my mom made me clean up my room. As I was clearing out moldy junk from underneath my bed, I found my copy of Where the Red Fern Grows. That book was my favourite untill I read the Lotr books. It was my Mom's copie before it was mine. She borrowed it from the library wen she was in 7th grade... and never returned it. (I wonder who much she owes her Middle School in fines?) I have read it once a year since the 4th grade! I love it sooooo much! It is my second favorite book. (I count the lotr books as one, because that is how they were meant to be published in the first place.)

I just moved a couple weeks ago. I did indeed discover books I had no idea I still owned. I can't post them specifically though, because I have literally hundreds (thousands?) of books, and the number of volumes I was surprised by numbered in the double-digits. And on a Tolkien board I'm sure anyone who's moved will commiserate with my feelings, but books are an absolute DRAG to move. I found myself wishing I was one of these guys with just some clothes, a bed, a couch, and a playstation (which I don't have mind you) to move. Oh, I just got round to unpacking books and putting them on shelves tonight! I am now officially living in my new pad!

I still have a copy of 'The Learning Tree'. I loved that book!

When I found it, it made me wonder if there wasn't a deep subconscious reason why i liked the Ents so much...

I never chuck out old things. Most of my childhood books were passed down to my brother.

But regarding the titles themselves... man, where do I even begin...

I just found a book called "I Can Fly". It was written in the seventies or something, and it was my brother's first. I really love that book!

I can fly! I can fly! I can...

Flop.

I liked 'Mike MUlligan and his Steam Shovel' too! Just the other day I was reading it to my little sister and i realized for the first time that MIke really could have dug his way out with his steam shovel. He didn't have to be stuck there for ever.

My mom said that I was ' a little slow' and my dad just shook his head and said,
it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool,
then to speak and removes all doubt'
