We said the same thing during the Gulf War - it just wasn't publicly stated. I think it was a warning to everyone that may consider using biological/chemical weapons against the US - not just Iraq.

I don't like the statement - but anyone that thinks that that is not an option (even if left unsaid) is obviously no very smart. Of course we'd rataliate with anything we feel is appropriate.

I do however think that nuclear is the very very very last resort. Once you cross over that line - all bets are off.
