James Patterson
I don't know if many people have read any of his books. I suppose alot have, just because he's a best selling author, but I don't know if it pertains to...y'all.
Anyway, he has written a number of books including Hide and Seek and Jack and Jill , has anyone read ANY of his books, and did you like them. (I read and liked them, but they are NOT the greatest books)

Sorry, I haven't read any of his books, but I haven't been paying much attention to the best seller lists lately.

I know that he's a pretty big name in pop fiction (which I hardly follow), but I'm not even clear on what kind of stuff he writes.

James Patterson writes medical mystery's usually involving his famed Alex Cross.
(Along came a spider and Kiss the girls) His books usually include some criminal mastermind trying to pull off the perfect crime. Including disguises, multiple personality's and serial killers. I like the books by him that I have read, but I've only read a few like Hide and Seek (mentioned by thread starter) Along Came a Spider. Roses Are Red, 1st to Die (about an elite group of females from various parts of investigations) and 2nd chance (same girls) His books are often intricate, but somewhat predicatible in the OUTCOME, not the events coming up to the OUTCOME. Alot of people have seen the movie Along Came a Spider, and I assure you, the book is better and much more of a shocker. It's 98% different than the movie. JAmes Patterson also does ALOT of psychology references, and history references. His books are good, read them.

Almost forgot.
The book The Beach House, I read last week. It was one of the best mystery's I've read in a long time. I'd recommend that to anyone who isn't into Patterson books. Plot is always thick in his story's, but I think he lacks in keeping a readers interest at the middle of the story. Try to keep going it gets better.

I recently read Cat and Mouse which is good. It really kept me guessing. Actually, I still haven't figured it out.

And yes, he likes to make you confused.

It's an Alex Cross novel. There's a villain named Gary Soneji, another one named Mr. Smith, and an FBI agent named Thomas Pierce. I think I've got all that right.

He has alot of repeat characters. I think Gary Soneji has been in two.
He is my favorite character, so clever and psychotic.

When I was reading Cat and Mouse, I pictured Denzel Washington as Alex Cross.

Ohh amen to that Khamul, and Laurence Fishbourne *about the same build and description* as his partner *forget the name*
I just never liked the entire rational undertones of the characters and all that "It's the whites fault" BS.

Wasn't his name Sampson? I think that's right. And for some odd reason, I pictured him as a white guy.

Sampson, I think you are correct, for some reason I was thinking Smith, and no, in Along came a spider it clearly states they grew up together in 'da hood', as black poor kids. And they stole candy from the 5 in dime, or something
Feelin' any better Khammy?

That explains it. The only one I've read is Cat and Mouse. I'll have to read Along Came a Spider.
Yeah, I'm feeling better. I still can't eat anything more solid than chicken noodle soup, but that's much better than applesauce. And I can't feel the right half of my tongue, but they say that should go away. Thanks for asking.

Well, no thanks is required, I'd miss Mr. Bean too much if you were going to drop dead. Plus, you're pretty nice yourself.
Along Came the Spider is very good, still have to read Pop Goes the Weasel. You must understand I read the series out of order, and it makes for a rather confusing read. But really Khamul, I recommend Beach House, it does have an anti-climactic ending, but is still very good. Although, if you want a sicko to read about go with Gary Soneji!
