new worlds

Frodo is exposed to Cerin Amroth for the frist time and sees the world as something new before him. How are they ever going to present that feeling as described in the book to us?

Re: new worlds

What a question! That would be an artistic achievement indeed!

Sometimes, intangibles are conveyed in drama by the words of the script, and especially by the countenances of the actors.

An actor playing Frodo, might have an expression of great wonder on his face, in sharp contrast to the horror, despair, and grief so shortly before. A really fine actor might somehow convey the feel of a particularly altered state of consciousness. Special effects would help a lot.

A recent example of this sort of thing was attempted in the latest Star Trek movie in a scene with Captain Picard and the ageless lady on the planet demonstrating to him the odd sense of time in that place.

That sort of thing can be done. The question is, how well can they do it? How well will this cinematic interpretation stand up to the individual's inspiration from Tolkien's words?

I hope Peter Jackson has brushed up his toes!
