Robin Mckinley??

Has any one read Robin Mckinley? She is more fantasy than sci-fi
but I really enjoy her books. Most of her books are retellings of fairytales like Beauty and the beast or Sleeping beauty

I loved her book about Robin Hood. I think I may have read something else by her, but I can't remember what.

I liked them and thought they were alot of fun. There are two that I know of, The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown. I read Blue Sword first, Hero was written later and I think was meant as a prequel.

For some reason, I found these books very beautiful. They leave you with a feeling that is not often felt after reading a typical fantasy book. I really like the heroines in both these books.

They are really cool. For a while I was randomly reading anything written by her. I love:
  • The Hero and the Crown
  • Beast!!!!!
  • Deerskin!!!(TC says so too, {she's right here reading over my shoulder})
  • The Outlaws of Sherwood
  • ...and a lot more that I don't remember because I don't pay that much attention to authors

All her characters are really inspiring.

I loved her books Beauty and Rose Daughter. I am a Beauty and the Beast freak! I love that fairy tale and she did and excellent job with those books. I also loved Spindles End! That was good

I love Robin McKinly...I read OUTLAWS OF SHERWOOD and adored it because she makes her characters so human. I can relate to all of them, though I especially like Much, Robin, and Little John.
I have also read A DOOR IN THE HEDGE. It's great.

HoY I too am a confirmed BatB freak. (really though I like practically every fairy tale) I love the fairytale and retellings of it. I must agree Spindle's end was very good. Such an interesting ending, neh? sorry that was very disjointed

Wow. I think she must of written a whole wack of stuff since I was reading her back in the day. I think I have to go hunting for her newer stuff and some of the old stuff I never got around to reading. I haven't read Rose's Daughter or Spindle's End.

I've only read The Outlaws of Sherwood but it was REALLY good!!! I like how it made the characters seem real.

i have read the Outlaws of Sherwood, The Door in the Hedge, and A knot in the Grain. I really liked all her books, and I want to read The Hero and the Crown, or whatever the first book is in that series.
