Silmarillion VS. Brave New World

In English class, our class novel is Brave New World and My Personal novel is the Simarillion and we're supposed to do a literary essay. My teacher said comparing and contrasting the two is a good way to do the essay.
He also said our novel should be, like BNW,about Love, Humanity and rebellion. Therefore the Silmarillion is perfect
I mean they may seem very different but I can actually see many similarities and hings to compare.

RE: Silmarillion VS. Brave New World

There's a film adaptation of it, featuring Leonard Nimoy

What is brave new world???

GAAAH!

*shakes his head and mutters something about the state of modern education*

Contrasting the two will be difficult, if you pick the entire Silmarillion, If I might make a suggestion- pick one of the major storys and contrast it.

The Darkening of Valinor for example, a lovely comparison can be drawn about the destruction of the utopia of aman.

Blackheart ... poo on you. Just be Xandre and be being Xandre. Sheesh. Brave New World sounds like a bad Disney song, so throw that at a bush and laugh.

At least he's not contrasting Cool World and the Sil... That would be more my level of interest...

WHAT! Not again!

Go rent it and watch it. Preferably after drinking a bottle of cheap wine.

Brave New World is a novel about the future, where people are supposed to have sex with as many people as possible, there's no such thing as a family and children are decanted (basically poured from a bottle, test tube babies). There is really no such thing as love and if you ever feel bad, you get high. But there's a few people who don't like this New World.
