This belongs in the Silmarillion Forum.

Sauron brought the Ring with him to Númenor, according to a letter by Tolkien.

Quote:
"Ar-Pharazon conquered a terrified Sauron's subjects, not Sauron. Sauron's personal 'surrender' was voluntary and cunning: he got free transport to Numenor! He naturally had the One Ring, and so very soon dominated the minds and wills of most of the Numenoreans. (I do not think Ar-Pharizon knew anything about the One Ring. The Elves kept the matter of the Rings very secret, as long as they could."

I know this has nothing to do with the thread but i am appoligizing for using the same title thread as you. I did not know you did the same thing and I was just in that thought. I am pretty much obsest with the humane mind and how it still recalls or dreams up odd things out of you'r controle and no matter how wierd they are you mostly do not remember them.
So Sorry Comic Book Guy. I realy do not want anyone to be angry at me.
