y the heck would they release it on the 25th?
im not saying i wouldn't go and c it, but the cinemas would hardly b packed would they?
i mean, most pple that go and c LotR lead vaguely normal lives, and they're not gonna go out of they're way 2 go and c a film on christmas day!]
I know that us insane pple would, but thats not the point
y can't they release the nxt film like 2 morrow?
or at least release the first one on video, 2 satisfy pple
rates r really low at the moment
when i last went to c lotr, there woz hardly n e one there!!!!!

I agree!
What a stupid date. No one goes to the movies on Christmas! Open it the day after or Dec. 19....that was a good date for FOTR.
Don't mess with what works!

Do you actually have a reliable source for this information, because I can't believe it until I read it.

Uhh sure they do. Lots of people do. Not everyone is a christian. I'm not. I've gone to the movies on the 25th. So do lots of Christians.

I'd have to agree, Dec 25 is a terrible date for the release of the next two films. Although I'd go see them on that day, probably several showings, I think as a marketing decision this really bites. I doubt, if the dates are accurate, they will remain set in stone as New Line rethinks how best to impact the theaters.

I say Dec 19 for all three films.

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." I'd go to see it on the 25th, and I'm Catholic. What could be possibly better to fill a completely boring Christmas afternoon???

i agree that i would go and see it if it DID come out on christmas day, but i think that Bropous is right, it would be really poor marketing and stuff to release it on the 25th, and anyway, films usually come out on the same weekday don't they?
but, now i think about it, fotr was released on 19th on a wednesday, and christmas day this year is a wednesday, and if they r gonna release the films on the same day not date each year, then i suppose it would work!
but it would just be a bit inconveniant wouldn't it!
but then again, it would be one of those films with high family ratings 'coz everyone would go and see it together as a family!

im debating with my self and contradicting myself 2!!!!!
oh well!

My family an me are going to go every New years eve. We did for the fellowship and it can be kinda a cool thing, even if it is with your parent. Though you don't get to drool as much at Elijah, Orlando and Dominic!

I saw FotR for the 2nd time on New Year's Day.

I've heard from several sources that TTT would be released on the 18th, but nothing about TRotK. Christmas? That would be a nice thing to do then, though.
