Hello to all!
I've been visiting this board for a while and really enjoy the discussions. I have just finished the Silmarillion and enjoyed it more than the LotR books. I had tried to read it once before ( in the 70's) but was unable to get into it. The Silmarillion explains so many thing that are the foundations to the other stories. I am anxious to reread the other books in light of a better comprehension of the mythology behind the people of Middle Earth. It is amazing for 1 person to have devised such a complete mythology as to (in my opinion) rival existing religions.

Welcomed to the registered world of Entmoot! Don't talk to Wayfarer, he'll bite. (I would put in a bad word for FilmHobbit, but he's just not around anymore).

It's best to watch out for all of us. We'll drive you mad with spam, endless discussions on whether Balrogs have wings or Legolas is blonde. And a lot of bickering who get to take Frodo or Legolas home. In fact, if you value your health, leave now, while you still can!!! Oh yeah, and welcome..

Wilkommen Sie mein neu freund and enjoy the discussions, parodies, songs, limericks, pictures, and winged (or not) debates of so-and-so rocks while this-and-that <blocks>.
I agree with you on your point, Elvet. I also believe Prof T didn't have Lego back then so he used words.

There's not a specific General Insanity forum, but we're ALL insane ALL the time, so why bother making one???? It's so much more fun to sneak insanity into posts and avoid being caught for spamming. At least, that's my opinion as a 15 year old silly insane sleep deprived person!
Welcome, Elvet. I hope you haven't been scared away yet.

I'm insulted by that comment. I'm not insane. Good day.

All your replies tell me I have come to the right place. I am fairly new at using forums, and still a little shy. 2 things I have noticed here. The first is that the level of knowledge of all things Tolkien is phenomenal. For a neophyte, this can be a little daunting. But I subscribe to the "No such thing as a bad question" theory, and it seems that the contributors and moderators are patient enough to answer all inquiries well. The second is that there is a good rapport between all of you, and the jesting and lightheartedness make me feel comfortable.
