Gandalf Already brought up?

As a new member ive been trying to catch up on past threads and ive noticed that good old phrase pop up now and again.

I have the feeling that it along with some additional remarks has probably lost more new members than anything else.

Most people here have probably been to other sites, bursting with enthusiam and posted their thoughts, only to be "'slapped down" by an old standing member along the lines off,

"Weve done that hundreds of times,BORING,read FAQ'S before you post!"

Result-instant ex member.

Maybe this new eager member had looked on the board and thought,

"What a boring lot of posts, nothing of interest so i'll post my own ideas"

So fellow members, lets you and I be a little gentler with our new members and try to keep the board interesting and vibrant to interest everyone new and old alike.

Ask yourself this question,

"When was the last time i began a thread which really interested members and made them think about LOTR?"

Comments anyone?

Lastly a fun Question to get you thinking,

"What is the link between Merry and Fram,Son of Frumgar?."

A Clue: its nothing to do with language.

I don't think that a new member should be shot down but I believe that they should be directed to scoure the old threads.

It will give them some knowledge and entertainment.

I posted a thread a few hrs ago with a link to Alternative authors' versions of LOTR but I made sure I used enmoot's search engine for any mention in previous posts before I attempted the post.

I appreciate Comic Book Guy's advice but I still can't find the thread/s he said already existed. I'm interested in what other mooters have previously posted on the topic but I must be using the wrong keywords. 'tried Ian Fleming, alternative, etc. from the link and even the link address.

I would also appreciate if he or any of the other veteran mooters and admins can point me to these old posts or keywords.

Regards and thanks,

Gandalf

This is to Aldesign mainly.........

Too lazy?

Who said Fram,Son of Frumgar was a Hobbit,or even linked by a Family tree?

You may have proved my point with the too lazy remark exactly,by impying you know LOTR so well you dont need to look it up,and that my question is so easy it doesnt warrent an answer.

Well my friend you have egg on your face,so up off your lazy ****,take up your copy of LOTR and get reading, cause you dont know LOTR as well as you think you do!

If you are a fan, find the link!
