Dwarves getting left out.

I think that the Dwarves should of had a higher power in there race. Maybe not as high as a Istari but just someone with a bit of magical power.

They did have magical power. They had a great deal of magic having to do with their makings and songs. If you look you'll find examples of magic-using in all the Children of Ilúvatar.

They had their own type of power: their talent with making things, steadfastness, incorruptibility, etc. I don't think they needed "magic" powers. If they did they'd just be like short Noldor. They're unique in that they have a different sort of power, kind of an earth and stone power, if you take my meaning.

Nazgul Dwarvezez & Elvezez

[FONT=arial][COLOR=limegreen]

In the Hobbit, there are no elves as one of the main charecters. And the dwarves are the main charecters, so I'd say there is an equal amount of love shared here people!!

P.S. LEGOLAS ROX!!

Dwarves have next to no focus in any of Tolkien's work except the Hobbit!

I find striking resemblances of the Dwarves in the Hobbit to the Dwarves in Snow White, at least as Walt Disney pictured them.
(1) They were miners by occupation
(2) They were materialistic (Disney Dwarfs mined diamonds)
(3) They all had beards (except for Dopey, and nobody took him seriously).
(4) Hobbit and SW&T7D both appeared in the 30s.

Anyone care to comment on this?

I think emplynx is kidding ... so I won't say anything

The last five posts in this thread use to be a seperate topic in another Tolkien forum, but I moved them here as they seem to be a response to Legolas_Bowking's comments.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think Disney's Dwarfs were attacked by Balrogs!

Yeah, and Tolkien's Dwarves had a song a bit less repetitive than "Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho . . ."

I'll Say!

And can u imagine Thorin with a name like Dopey?

And do Dwarves live in sevens, sleep in sevens and eat in sevens?

Do u think that Tolkien's Dwarves keep hoards of dead princessces?

I don't.
