hmm, cheeseball lines and will Gil Galad get a proper mention in the next two films?

I am not saying that these certain lines spoiled the films, I think the film is excellent, however I would not think tolkien would have written them:
1. At Amon Hen after Boromir dies:
Aragorn: Let's hunt some orc
It's a great fantasy movie not a cheap blockbuster hollywood action flick.

2. In moria with the collapsing stairs
Gimli: Never toss a dwarf (or something like that)
Hmm, funny line but I cannot imagine Gimli saying that.

I am not saying I am right but I think these are not the best of lines.

Does anyone think there will be anything more about the last alliance in the films? Gil galad features in fotr because his name is on the cast list but he isn't mentioned in the narrative. Which is a shame because he is cool.

Aye. That was a shame. I had wished, that there would be something like this:
Big battle. Narrator tells "but after last orc had been killed..." and Sauron comes out. Then he'd go like "Duel me if you're not cowards!" in elvish to Gil-Galad and Elendil. They attack and get killed, but success to kill Sauron. Then Isildur comes and takes the Ring from corpse of Sauron.
I had always imagined it like that...Oh well, you can't have everything in good film...

I'm sorry to say - but I'll say it again - Jackson did make an action flick. The movie just doesn't have the same feel as the book.

The line I hate the most is - "You want him then come and claim him" by Arwen at the very much reworked Fligth to the Ford scene. I can not believe that line was chosen over Frodo saying -

"By Elbereth and Luthien the Fair, you shall have neither the Ring nor me!"

I agree with you lightice. They should have restled with sauron and mortally wounded him, but isildur would have finished him off. The film is never going to be as good as the book. However the film was alright.
