Guess I might as well answer this....

I am 16, I have written and directed a play, and acted in another, nope, I never heard of a stage play for the Hobbit, yes, I enjoyed the book very much: the thing that I like most about Tolkien is that his world is so full of depth and history. In the book, the thing that stands out the most is the hopelessnes of the quest, and the help from outside. Very similar to man's quest to know God. My fav. character is probably Thorin, and fav. part is the riddle game. NA to the last three.

I've been in a kid's drama group for 8 years, a semi-professional local group for two shows, a civic theatre play, an audition for two others, and two parent-watching-kids musicals.

Nope...just the One Ring Musical
4- If so, what did you think of it?

5- Did you enjoy the book? Why, why not?
I loved the book because of the wonderful plot and many interesting characters.

6- What stood out in the book or stage play?
The loyalty of Sam and the wise prescence of Gandalf and Aragorn.

7- Favourite bit/character?
Aragorn would have to be favorite character...or perhaps Faramir.

if styalistis means more unreal and imaginative, than that's what I like.

The actors/ actresses were so very clear on their lines, even though they were hard Shakespearean phrases.

I'm 13
I've been in several skits at my camp and library, auditioned for a play, produced home plays since I was two or three, and been in a scool play
I did'nt even know there was a stage play.
I enjoyed the Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings and the Silmarillion.
Because of the homourous lifelike characters of The Hobbit, the amazingly realistic plot and loyal and loving and evil characters of LOTR and the beauty of the Sil(this also counts for the stuff that stood out at me).
Sam & Pippin in LOTR, eagles and Gandalf in the Hobbit, and Beren and Luthien in the Silmarillion.
LOTR=green, Hobbit=red, Silmarillion=white.
I dunno
Much ado about nothing.
The easy comparrison between Benedick(cool), Claudio and his friends(Jerks), Hero(dip)and Beatrice(me), and the Night watch(who are the TRUE heroes), and the witty humor.

I'm designing a set and costumes for the touring version of the show that reflects Tolkien's world better than the present ones (The elves have pointy heads, Gandalf has a helmet etc.)

1) Compared to others here from the ages listed...I am ancient.
2) I am a member of The Screen Actors Guild and Actor's Equity (Stage Actors Union) I have appeared in about thirty different stage productions, movies, television shows and commercials. No I am not famous and I doubt anyone here would recognize my face, much less my name.
3) I am aware of it for obvious reasons but have never seen any production.

5) I read LOTR first. While I loved LOTR I was decidedly less impressed with The Hobbit. Perhaps that is because it was written as a children's story. The additional complexity of plot and character description in LOTR held my interest.

10) Wow, that's a toughy. For musicals it would probably be Les Miserables. For straight plays, give me shakespeare anyday.
With Les Miz it is the scope and graunduer of the story and the music. With shakespeare it is the brilliance of his use of language.

yes... a fun adventure with original and creative characters, plus i grew up with it

only in the book-->how Bilbo transforms from a quiet hobbit to a quiet hobbit with a taste for adventure and a love of beautiful things

i'm 19

i've been singing for about 7 years and acting for about 6. in high school had several musical roles, a few very minor straight-acting roles. i'm more of a singer who acts than an actor. also have (minimal) tech experience in lighting & set construction, lately i've been trying to write a play of my own & design its sets.

3- Are you familiar with The Hobbit stage play (any, I know there are several)
no, i only know of its (their) existence.

5- Did you enjoy the book? Why, why not?
yes, for the story - Bilbo's transformation from scared little hobbit to traveler, while still remaining himself.

6- What stood out in the book or stage play?
the images in the book - for example, the crack opening in the cave where Thorin & co. find shelter, the Elven dungeon, etc. etc.

7- Favourite bit/character?
hard choice. can't say without a reread.

that depends on which scene - anywhere in the Misties, grayish brown; Mirkwood, sort of a sickly-green; Hobbiton yellow, Lonely Mountain red/grayish; Dale a watery, shifty blue.

9- Do you prefer realistic or styalistis theatre, or don't know.
for visuals (set, light & costume, stylized - because they're more daring, more artistic IMO and because they're more fun to watch & imagine. also a good stylized or abstract set adds more to the play than a literal, plain set. for the plays themselves, i prefer "absurdish & slightly weird" (bad description but i can't explain better)

10- What is the best production you've ever seen?
musical: Chicago, great acting/singing/dancing, very very energetic. i enjoyed the actors more than the play, because the actors were so into the play & just puttign on a damn good show. opera: Magic Flute, for music & the WONDERFUL costumery & sets. straight acting: The Inspector Calls, because of the story & how far into it i got. i also like Cats, for the fantastic feel to it.
