After months of hard work, TolkienTrail.com is finally open. Bet you thought it would never happen, right? At The Tolkien Trail, you can learn about Tolkien, travel through Middle-earth, and play games with the Hobbits in the Shire!

I'd like to thank everyone at Entmoot for their support, especially Darth Tater, my partner in this and a very talented artist, and anduin, my fellow administrator who came up with the name of the site. I couldn't have done it without all of you Ents and Entings.

So please go visit now! And when you're done, send in any fan fiction you want included!

Enjoy everyone! And while you're writing that fan fiction don't forget to scan that original Tolkien artwork to send in as well!

Ben, you know I already give Entmoot five stars on my Suite101 list of links, but I have to say that Tolkien Trail simply blows me away. The site doesn't just show great promise, it's already a neat place to visit!

I've posted a review at the LOTR movie fact/rumor roundup and I took the unprecedented step of emailing some of the other Tolkien movie news Webmasters to recommend Tolkien Trail to them.

I can't promise you'll get endorsements from everyone (or anyone besides me), but I think they'll all be impressed with the site. You and Darth (and Anduin and anyone else who helped out) deserve a standing ovation for that effort. You've raised the bar on fan Web site design, which I can tell you ain't easy to do.

I have some feedback:

to make the page look more professional, on the side menu bar, make icons, don't just use regular links. The page will look a lot better.

Greg, we were considering making buttons but decided to use text. We may go to buttons eventually, but we would have to make a lot of buttons! Tater originally was going to make an image with the names, but text seemed a better option at the time. We'll definitely look into this idea though.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support. 125 different people visited TolkienTrail.com on its opening day, and it was just open for the last nine hours of the day. We have 39 responses to the poll so far and the page has been up just over 24 hours. Also, I joined the 25 Hobbits list last night, and already The Tolkien Trail has jumped to #25, out of 93.

On Tuesday there will be a new poll and wordsearch. There will probably be other minor assorted changes as well.
