I Need A LOTR Dealer

I am intensely curious if I can find a place to purchase the entirety of HOME on audiobook.

I am able to find a copy of [i]The Children of Húrin[I], but none else. I would love to have them all in audiobook format because the last time I say down to read a book was like a million months ago. Being the FT-working mommy of a two-year-old who lives in the middle of nowhere, I don't have a lot of leftover time for paper back books.

Does anyone know if these treasures can be obtained??

Try Google “lord of the rings audiobook”. On my search (Google is different for everyone), audible.com is the first return; it looks like they’re offering Fellowship of the Ring as a free trial.

I think there is one read by an Erin Jones. Saw it on ebay once long ago.

I marvel whether putting HoME on audio is even feasible. Making the difference clear between story fragments and exposition would be a logistic nightmare, IMO.

Snowdog, .

Again turning to Google for “tolkien history of middle earth audiobook”, one of the first hits leads to the publisher’s audiobook for History of Middle-earth, yours for a mere £180. The Book of Lost Tales, parts I and II, are available separately; but the publisher’s complete set would appear preferable, if expensive.

Since I haven’t heard them (or any other Tolkien audiobooks), I’m not sure how they handle endnotes, footnotes, and Christopher Tolkien’s studious commentary and interjections. As Eärniel observes, that would seem to make for “a logistic nightmare”. If you get them, do tell us how they managed these.

Heh, it exists! I'm impressed.

And indeed very curious how they manage things like footnotes.
