although I have the cutest AV, and read the instructions in BOTH av threads, I still can't get that thing to stick.

I also have no notion at all how the sig lines are produced.

So I'm probably a ways from custom title.

re sig: look at the top left of this page, click "user cp", and then on the upper left on the page that comes up, under "control panel - settings and options", click "edit signature"

In the same area under "control panel - settings and options" is "edit avatar", where you can put the avvy addy. Give it a try and see if it works. If not, I'm sure we can all trouble-shoot it with you.

And go here to request your title.

The link to offline avatar thing has never worked here (it's coded to expect a "www.", eventhough many sites do not use that in addressing these days), as a result, you have to downsample your avatar to fit. Usually saving a JPEG as a GIF does the trick, then you can just upload.
