Need some help with ICQ.
I have just installed ICQ on my 2nd computer and when I looked in my Contact List it was empty..

Re: Need some help with ICQ.
There could be an easier way but here's what I would do:
Go into Windows Explorer. Go to C:\Program Files\Icq\NewDB. Then copy all the files from that directory and replace the ones on the other computer. |

Exactly... and make a backup copy of those files in case you encounter a problem someday (I lost all my contact list last month and it's really painfully long to get everybody back on the list)

Re: Need some help with ICQ.
Then you're doomed... try to get someone who has a lot of the same people as you in his contact list to send it to you...

Re: Need some help with ICQ.
Well there ought to be. I have ICQ 99a, I guess yours could be different since you have a newer version.

Re: Need some help with ICQ.
i think you should copy all files (in all subfolders of ICQ) that includes in its name your ICQ number.
i did that last time and it worked. |

Re: Need some help with ICQ.
Boy, I wish I had known that before bmilder
![]() The way I did it was take the whole ICQ folder off of my old comp, than install ICq on my new comp, than swap all the files except for the DLL files. |
