Topic Maximum to be increased to 500!

I hear that the latest ezboard upgrade, to occur sometime in November, will increase the maximum topics per forum from 50 to 500! None of our forums have reached even 50 topics yet, but this gives us something to aspire to :P. The maximum number of posts per topic will be 500. (So I guess we can't have full JC-style chat threads ) Still, now we don't have to worry about losing topics.

And with this change comes a 500% increase in the loading time of each page. [sarcasm]Yeah!!![/sarcasm]

Well the pages are finally loading at normal speed again...

General Messages currently has 427 topics. Does this mean that it will start deleting topics after 500?? Will they take them from the bottom of the list, or just pick them randomly??

It will delete from the bottom-up.

We can always create an archive.

Ah yes, we should do that soon.

We'd have hit 500 a loong time ago if I hadn't created forums out of General Messages like Books. (Notice we're over 650 in the number up top)

I've been waiting for an official archive, but maybe a makeshift one could do...
