A glass raised for India and Pakistan!

I am just delighted about recent developments between India and Pakistan, over Kashmir. The efforts the two countries are putting into their peace process since January have been paying off magnificently. The two leaders have promised that militant attacks will not stall the peace process, and are working together for a peaceful resolution to the situation. Bus services are working, and trade has been initiated running through Kashmir between the countries. Families are being reunited at last.

For those that don't know, Pakistan and India have fought two wars over Kashmir in the past. Both nations claim the entirety of the country.

Over the last several days, so many good developments have been happening that I just really want to raise a glass to the presidents of both countries, at least over this particular matter- Kashmir.

To a peaceful and prosperous future for Kashmir, the leaders of Pakistan and India, and to all those involved in this peace process!

(Sips from his wine glass)

I find it odd that both are racing to better their existing nuclear delivery systems.

Of course it's not resolved, or perfect, or anything ideal, but people are trying, and they have made a lot of progress. They certainly deserve props for that.

(This statement seems inadequate for what has been, and hopefully will be accomplished there. And I know the minutest possible amount about this... but it is complex - there are at least three sides to the issue.)

of course none of this would have been a problem if it weren't for the imperialistic policies of the country in which i unhappily reside, but then most problems in the world can be traced to the french, british and ottoman empires.

Well I don't think that helped. Colonization never helps in my opinion. But I also don't think that this is solely to blame for the issues there today.

I wish I knew more about the history of the area.

You forget to mention the trade agreements that have been formed between India and Pakistan, and the successful bus road that is operating within Kashmir, linking the two countries. Trucks apparently are going to be passing through Kashmir between the countries.
