Lord of The Rings Exhibition

Has anyone seen the Lord of The Rings Exhibition? It was on recently in Sydney, Australia and had a lot of costumes and memorabilia for the movies.

I assume it was held in other countries prior to Australia but couldn't find any threads relating to it. There was also a lot of pencil sketches and artworks from the movies as well as some minatures and models.

The most fascinating part of the exhibition was the funeral boat with a full-scale latex model of Boromir in it. He looked so amazingly real that I expected Sean Bean to get out of the boat and tell us he was the special guest!!

I saw it in London about two years ago. When I saw the funeral boat they didn't have a latex Boromir inside but that sounds really good.

Have you got any photos from there?

I'd really like to see the artwork and the costumes! I hope it makes it to the Los Angeles area!

Unfortunately, no. Photography was banned at the exhibition

There were some really fabulous costumes - but the best costume was Galadriel's. It was amazingly detailed!! You would also enjoy the banners and flags from Rohan and Gondor and also from the Elvish people.

My roommate went to the exhibition when it was in Boston this past autumn. She was very impressed with the figure of Boromir as well. It is quite detailed. Now she is a big Sean Bean fan. I don't really want to explore those ramifications....

(She's always been quite the fangirl, though. And I still can't get her to read the books... )
