Is there a New White Tree?
Can anyone tell? I was watching my ROTK dvd a few days ago - and the last scene at Minas Tirith, where Aragorn is crowned, Arwen comes to him and where they all bow to the four hobbits... in the views where they pan out to show the whole thing, I can't make out on my TV or not whether there's a new White Tree in place.
Can anyone else see it better? Like with a big screen or anything? Maybe we'll know for sure on the EE...

Re: Is there a New White Tree?
You know, I seem to remember seeing one on the big screen when I went to go see it at the Embassy in Wellington...
*BoP is easily confused*

I watched RotK the other day, and I don't remember and it has been bothering me. I just put in the dvd and watched Aragorn's crowning and there is a white tree there. I paused the scene just to get a better look and it looks like there is even buds on the tree. Perhaps more attention will be drawn to the tree in the EE version. I don't think much attention was centered on the tree because the general audience (people who never read the books) probably wouldn't have had any idea of the significance of the tree.

I always assumed that the white blossoms that are floating everywhere when Aragorn is crowned were from the white tree in bloom.

I wouldnt think so because the ceremony seemed to be right after the battle like maybe a week later. So I dont think there would have been time for the palnting. but maybe I am wrong.

There will probably be more detail in the extended version.

I remember I read something about a picture of Aragorn and Gandalf either planting the tree or standing next to it for the extended edition. But the article disappeared from theonering.net and so therefore I cant confirm this but I wouldnt doubt it.

yeah there is now way PJ would have forgotten about that. He would have included it and like I said early we will probably get about 2 hours on the making of the two different trees and when the newqw tree is put in and all that jazz.

Just to make things clearer, Aragorn & Gandalf did plant a new White Tree in the book, so yes, the tree at the ceremony is a new one.
