Why Everyone Hates Communists

I'm not actually saying everyone hates communists, just riding the wave of 'everyone' threads...

Are there any communist Mooters? Is it true you actually hate everyone and everything?
I don't discriminate on the grounds of political views but that's the problem I have met. I have never met a communist that accepts any view besides there own is valid. Any view right of them is 'imperialist, fascist and racist'.
I had to explain to someone today that Britain wasn't a police state and isn't currently 'imerialistic'.
Is there actually moderate, considered communist view?

Actually I believe that New Jersey was founded by Communists, Militant Communists. That is why they are on the coast, because it is easier to run a wannabe socialist state next to water.

See, the whole superstition that Communists have about water started when the USSR crashed. The socialist ideals didnt reach to the coasts, except for the ones in the frozen north, and when it collasped, they blamed it on Communism needing to be next to water to survive. Look at Vietnam and Cuba. Anyway, that is when New Jersey turned to Communism.

Disclaimer: JD, i am just joking around, do not yell at me, or preach your communistic ideals at me, Minnesotans are not communists, and the war against Wisconsin has been raging for several years over the advent of communism there

Disclaimer: JD, I was just joking in the disclaimer too, man, just a little fun

Disclaimer: I love Wisconsin (except for the Green Bay Packers)

A 1930's travel in a Russian newspaper:

WONDERFUL SIBERIA!

Go there now for the experience of your life.

Nice weather (minus 60 degrees celcius, wonderful snow storms)

An easy way to loose weight (water and bread everyday, good hard work).

Excellent accomodation (Paper thin walls and plywood beds)

Cheap bathing facilities (go out and roll in the snow)

32 million people can't be wrong!

To go, do something the KGB would arrest you for.

Like telling your neighbor how you want to leave the country or that the Krimlin is doing something wrong.

Beor - you better watch it. New Jersey was founded by the Netherlands, before England claimed it and it was given to Berkley and Carteret for their support for the monarchy.

Yup, and during the Cold War, New Jersey was trafficing Communists through to the inner states, corrupting the youth of the nation. McCarthy knew this, but no one listened. That is what sprialed Wisconsin down into Communism, sparking a war with Minnesota. We found an unlikely ally in Michigan, though, and now we almost have them pinned. We just need to shut down the support they recieve from NJ.

Disclaimer: There is no war, and neither Wisconson or NJ are Communist States.

Well, in that case, I am going to jump on the bandwagon!

excerpt from NBC Nightly News, 22 March 2004, 1819 hrs ...and the evidence will be brought before the Grand Jury later this week... In other news, the 20-year war that has been going on between Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconson has just spread to the east coast, when a team of MEST (Minnesota Elite Strike Team) agents infiltrated the Communist capitol of Communist New Jersey and captured the much-sought after Communist Party Leader, jerseydevil, and brought him back to Minnesota, following I-90 though Chicago, and then up 75 through Michigan, then into Canada, through Saux St Marie, and down around the Lake of the Woods area, finally bringing him before the Minnesota Communist Hearing Council, headed by Minnesotan Senator Phil Dempsey. The council will hear his defense in two days.

The raid was conducted in response to the intelligence recieved from Minnesota's ally in the fight, Michigan, when reported Communist Sypathizers were crossing the MI/WI border. A captured Sypathizer named the Communist Leader, and his location. This is Channel 11 Nightly News, Linda Schroder reporting....Tom?...

There it is, everyone

(This is all according to the Geneva Convention, by the way, so no complaining, JD. You remember the Geneva convention...the one the Shriners held in Geneva, NY???)

I don't hate communism any more than I hate pure capitalism. I just don't believe a society in which a pure form of communism or capitalism would work in favor of all citizens.

I've read Det Kommunistiska Manifestet by Marx and Engels (I don't remember the English title though - someone please help me?). It was very interesting.

I don't think any form of cummunism works. I think it makes people lazy, hinders progress and invention, takes away individuality, and brings down society. The big thing is - it takes away the ability to strive and dream.

Well, because they've been brainwashed by the media into a docile, neutered consumer status where they are free to do what they're told and accept their lot, of course.

I'm comparatively left-wing, but was always put off by the authoritarianism of communism. Though people tend to forget that the ultimate aim of communism is localisation of political and economic power; centralisation is supposed to be a necessary evil in order to remove power from the ruling class and reassign it to the collectives. Unfortunately, most communism in real life conveniently forgot that second step.

So, nice idea, shame about the reality.

If anyone's interested, there's a groovy web site called the Political Compass which asks you a bunch of questions then maps you on a political graph. What I like about it is that it's not just "left-right", but also includes an "authoritarian-libertarian" axis.

You can see how your views compare with political parties, presidential candidates and world figures. It helps to explain why someone like me (scored -8,-6) is just as far removed from Stalin (communist, but mostly extreme authoritarian) as from George Bush (authoritarian but mostly extreme right wing).

My thing confirmed that my feeling is that communism sucks. I got...
Economic Left/Right: 5.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.62

Not surprising. No one on their chart falls where I do. I guess that makes me a free thinker.

According to the British chart - I'm right of the Liberal Democrats.

LMAO!! Ha! lutefisk! So, our reputation preceeds us. Interesting.

Oh, and Ru, I agree, too much of anything (except lovin') is a bad thing. Lets just be a happy medium and move on with our lives.
