Saying Hello (and some)
Hello
I first read JRR Tolkien's triology many years ago, at which time I don't recall people referring to LotR as a triology. That seems to be a newish term perhaps originating with the release of Peter Jackson's films, his making the three films one after the other. Or perhaps someone is able to tell me differently. I loved Tolkien's books the first time I read them, and I think that perhaps they beckoned in an era popularising fantasy, which is still ongoing - and may it never end . Like most of his fans, I've re-read LotR many times. What I think is probably not unusual, I then read The Hobbit ... and have made a start on Silmarilion, which I don't find an easy book to read (but I'm sure I'll get over that hump). Anyway, it's really nice to be here. |
